☕️ WFH Hits Harder in the Winter

In the spirit of connecting with community this winter (and taking care of one’s mental health), this issue has some solutions for the work-from-home warrior.

As a 7-year WFH employee, I’ve worked from it all—an apartment, WeWork, coffee shops, libraries, my couch, my mom’s couch, and le pièce de résistance…a rented cubicle in a co-share office found on Craigslist (** chef’s kiss **).

(…the irony of swearing off corporate cubicles. 🤔)

It’s the people in the co-share cubicle space that make it marvelous! ✨ Annnd my light therapy lamp. 🙌

For those exploring local options, check out what’s nearby (and a FREE day below):

  • Connects Workspace (two locations: Downtown Golden & near Red Rocks) - they’re currently offering a 30 Punch Pass for $600 ($900 value) through January 31. The pass expires 12/31/2025. Monthly memberships start at $220/month.

  • Craft Golden (430 Indiana Street) - Memberships last year started at $165/month, but you’ll have to email them to confirm the latest prices.

  • Arthur Lakes Library (1400 Illinois St) - Mine’s library is free and open to the public. With open WiFi and plenty of small tables on each level, this is a great spot to work…unless you’re in sales. 📞

  • Golden Public Library (1019 10th St) - Go in and turn right. Turn right again. One more right. Bingo! There’s an area on the south wall of the library with several tables, plus a small fireplace 🔥 with additional seating.

  • Craigslist Co-share Office - Search Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace for a spot. Sometimes you can negotiate down the rent (I did). Everything is negotiable, and it never hurts to ask.

FREE coworking day TOMORROW (1/21 @ 9am - 4pm) at Office Evolution (14143 Denver W Pkwy, Suite 100). Must RSVP via email. Click on the link below. ⬇️

Happy (co)working! 🧑‍💻

🚀 $200K Boost for Clear Creek Makerspace

Since its grand opening in March 2024, the Clear Creek Makerspace in Wheat Ridge has quickly become a creative haven for makers, artists, and entrepreneurs. It has already surpassed its initial goal of 60 members—welcoming over 170 and counting.

Last month, the City of Wheat Ridge secured a $200,000 federal grant, ensuring that the makerspace can grow—expanding programming and upgrading equipment.

Classes, many of which are free or low-cost, cater to a wide range of skill levels, and members gain 24/7 access after completing a one-hour safety course.

Whether you’re looking to prototype a new invention, launch a creative business, or simply find a space to unleash your imagination, check out all of their classes ➡️ here.
