Miners Alley is taking audition videos through Dec 20th for Ring Of Fire – The Music of Johnny Cash. Must be a proficient musician with an excellent singing voice. Unfortunately, my Cash loving karaoke skills don’t make the cut.

Pre-Holiday Self Care 🧖 

Everybody could use a little. Check out some of our fitness-related recommendations as well as the Golden Beauty & Wellness recs in the Golden Transcript’s annual reader survey below.

• The Beauty in Transition: A Movement Practice - Thurs 12/19 @ 1-2pm; this FREE virtual event is hosted by Creative Mornings and will include meditation, breathe work, and movement

• 🏂 Ski X Board Tune Night @ 5-9pm - New Terrain Brewing ($30 for a beer, a wax, and an edge); went to a similar event last year, and it was a lot of fun as well as a great deal to get ready for ski season

• 🎄Holiday Lights Run @ 5:45pm - Cannonball Creek Brewing; Join local running group PlayGldn for a festive and civic event as the group goes on a ~5 mile tour of the holiday lights, followed by beers and votes (see below)

• 🗳️ Cast your vote on Golden’s new Comprehensive Plan @ 5-7pm - Cannonball Creek Brewing; come for the civic participation, stay for the beer. It’s super easy! Put dots next to your favorite initiatives and optionally leave a comment on a sticky note. Easy peasy.

Ring in the New Year in whatever way suits your fancy…

✍️🧘 Kick Off the New Year: Flow, Journal, Set Intentions at Rise Yoga on 12/31 @ 10:30am ($25)

💃🕺 Looking to dance? The Buffalo Rose is hosting an 80s VS 90s NYE spectacular! 🤘 Tickets start at $40 and costumes are encouraged.

🍺🎶 Noon Year’s Eve Party at the Golden Mill is for anyone looking to make it an early celebration. Running from noon to 4pm, a DJ will be spinning hits throughout the decades at this family friendly event. Music starts at 1pm.

🔔🧘‍♂️ For those looking for a more relaxing reset, there’s a New Year’s Day Golden Sound Meditation going on at Body & Brain on Jan 1 @ 1:30pm. Tickets are $38.

🥾🏔️ Golden Gate Canyon State Park is hosting a FREE First Day Hike @ 9:30 (you will need a state park park pass - either day or annual - to get in). Hot cocoa and snacks will be provided before the 10am, 2.6 mile roundtrip hike.
