📄 The JeffCo 2045 Comprehensive Plan

“The year is 2045…” sounds like the setting of a sci-fi movie 🍿, but the decisions we make today will shape the real-life future of Jefferson County.

The Together JeffCo 2045 Comprehensive Plan outlines a vision for managing growth and improving our community over the next two decades. From expanding transportation options to preserving open spaces, the plan seeks to balance innovation, inclusivity, resiliency, and stewardship.

So…why should I care?

This plan will affect everything from where new housing developments can be built to how we protect our parks and wildlife. It guides the County’s decision-making processes.

Do you care about…

• Supporting local businesses and creating jobs?

• Streets, parks, and trails?

• Preserving open spaces?

• Increasing safe transportation & reducing traffic congestion?

• Addressing the housing crisis?

So glad you asked! Public feedback is essential for shaping the final version of this plan. Jefferson County is inviting residents to participate in several ways:

1. Online Commenting: View the draft plan and click anywhere on it to add a comment by February 27th.

2. Join the Conversation: Follow JeffCo’s social media for the latest updates and opportunities to get involved. Additional community open houses are anticipated in Spring 2025.

Your input helps ensure this plan reflects the values, needs, and dreams of the community. Together, we can create a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient Jefferson County for generations to come. 💪

• 🧘 Sacred Sound and Stillness at Golden Rock Shop (2/20 @ 6:15pm) - Sound healing, restorative yoga, and deep relaxation. $25

• 🏀 Rock the Lock Mines vs Regis Basketball Game (2/20 @ 7:30pm) - It’s Senior Night so there are lots of prizes. Located inside of the Student Recreation Center (17th and Elm Street) in Lockridge Arena.

• 🍹Celebrate National Margarita Day at the Golden Outpost (2/22 3-9 pm) - “Celebrating with some good old fashioned Jimmy Buffet tunes, $3 off our Jolly Rancher Margaritas and $1 off beers! We’ll also have NA margaritas made with @konakombucha!”

• 👰‍♀️ Golden Wedding Show at The Eddy Hotel (2/22 @ 10am-2pm) - “…an exclusive showcase of top wedding/event venues and vendors. Explore The Eddy Taproom & Hotel, Table Mountain Inn, The Rose, and The Golden Mill-all in one day!” FREE but register ➡️ here.

• 🐶 Dog Adoption Event at Over Yonder Brewing (2/22 @ 1-4pm) - “Meet adoptable dogs, sip on delicious beer, and support a great cause! Over Yonder Brewing Co. will donate $1 per full pour of a featured beer (flavor to be announced) to Animal Rescue of the Rockies Old Dogs New Digs!”

• 🌲 JeffCo Open Space Nature Journal Club: Sketching Conifers (2/22 @ 1-4pm) Learn how to draw conifers including individual trees and coniferous forests.

• 📗 Books & Benders at Cannonball (2/25 @ 6pm) - Free, new book club! First read: ‘Vox’ by Christina Dalcher.

• 🧖 Nomadic Fire Mobile Sauna at Mountain Toad (2/25 @ 4-9pm) - 30-minute session for $20 per person.  Or rent it for your whole crew of 6 for $100.

• 🍻 Golden Startup Coffee Happy Hour (2/27 @ 4-6pm) - This relaxed evening event is all about building deeper connections, sharing ideas, and celebrating local innovation over drinks and great conversation.

• 🎭 Mardi Gras at Buffalo Rose (3/4 @ 6pm) - “Find your dancing shoes, put on your finest purple and gold, mask up and come join all of your closest friends to have a Ragin' Cajun good time while supporting the dozens of local organizations that benefit from Golden Civic Foundation.” Tickets start at $25.
