👠 Golden’s Most Stylish Charity Event

The 2025 Golden Charity Fashion Show is bringing the runway to the Rockies—and all for a great cause. Golden’s own Alyth Active and Truly Bohotique are once again teaming up to showcase a stunning collection of looks at Morris & Mae Collective, benefitting Hands of the Carpenter.

Hands offers hope to single women with dependent children by providing automobile services and partnering in their journey toward employment and economic self-sufficiency."

Expect a dazzling runway show, a live DJ, a silent auction, and plenty of opportunities to sip, shop, and support local businesses.

Vendors include: Unite Fitness, Olive Tree People, Jane’s Clay Co, ReLovedbyKC, Brand Evolutions, Golden Pelvic Health, Flower Shack, linked x den, TatterednTorn, Runners Roost Golden, Golden Laser Aesthetics, Skittenz, Sweet Bailey’s Honey, and Lookout Mountain Self Defense.

Every guest gets a complimentary bar ticket to enjoy while browsing. Plus, local favorites Woody’s Wood Fired Pizza, Kona Bowls, and Golden Roots are bringing the bites to keep you fueled for an afternoon of fashion and philanthropy.

This event is more than just a fashion show—it’s a celebration of community, small businesses, and the power of women supporting women. If that’s not the perfect way to celebrate International Women’s Day, we don’t know what is. 🙌

The event runs from 2-5pm. Get your tickets for $23 ➡️ here.

🎵 Live Music

Erin, Golden Pantry’s incredible manager, alongside the equally amazing volunteer, Flo, inside the pantry.

🔎 Around Golden: Golden Pantry & Thrift

If you’ve driven through Golden, you’ve passed it—a small, unassuming building on Ford Street that quietly powers a massive community effort. For 60 years, Golden Pantry & Thrift has been feeding families, providing essential resources, and proving that big impact can come from small spaces.

Serving 1,271 people across 600 households in Golden last year alone, this little pantry is a lifeline for many—including the 5% of clients who are unhoused. Unlike many food pantries, Golden Pantry ensures that individuals can select the food that fits their needs, whether it's gluten-free, vegetarian, or another specialized diet. And most importantly, it’s a safe and welcoming space for undocumented residents. ❤️

More Than a Pantry—A Community Effort

I had the privilege of visiting today and seeing firsthand the incredible work that Erin Miller, the Food Pantry Manager, and their team of dedicated volunteers are doing. Their passion and care for this community are evident in every stocked shelf, every sorted donation, and every warm interaction with a visitor.

Our newest intern showed up for work… but only for the treats.

Behind the scenes, it takes a powerful network of donors and volunteers to keep things running. 75% of the pantry’s food is donated by local partners, including Food Bank of the Rockies, Target, Natural Grocers, Safeway, and King Soopers. And the thrift store does more than sell secondhand treasures—it funds food purchases to keep shelves stocked.

With just two paid employees and ~80 volunteers working tirelessly in the pantry, sorting donations, and running the thrift store, the organization is trying to expand to weekend hours, but it’s challenging with limited paid staff.

Stamp Out Hunger—Golden’s Biggest Food Drive

Every May, the community comes together for Stamp Out Hunger, a nationwide food drive in partnership with the local post office (619 12th St, Golden, CO). Last year, this single event brought in a staggering 17,000 pounds of food—that’s the equivalent of 34 fully loaded pickup trucks!

How You Can Help

➡️ Volunteer for Stamp Out Hunger on May 10th: Sign up here.
➡️ Donate directly to the pantry or thrift store—every item makes a difference in feeding and uplifting Golden neighbors.
➡️ Shop the thrift store! Every dollar you spend goes towards purchasing food.

For six decades, this little pantry on Ford Street has been a big force for good. Let’s keep it going!

THANKS!
