Gal Behind the Goose Edition šŸŖæ

April 10 - Hi, it's me. I'm the goose, it's me. And news about Thursday editions.

Good morning, Golden!

You know, Iā€™ve never officially introduced myself. How rude of me! Here I am, waddling into your inbox each morning, honking away with all the latest and greatest from Goldenā€”and yet you may askā€¦ ā€œWho is this stranger danger Iā€™ve invited into my sacred space of Amazon orders, unopened coupons, and unread emails?!ā€

Letā€™s fix that.

šŸ‘‹ Hi, Iā€™m Kelseyā€”the gal behind the Goose (which you likely know if youā€™ve made it to the end of one of these thangs). I live in Golden, and Iā€™m an MBA student graduating in 30 days and 7 hours (not that Iā€™m counting). Iā€™m also a software engineerā€¦but unrelated to software, Iā€™m building a small creative business for kidsā€”to get them away from screens. (Sidenote: I went to my first Golden Startup Coffee todayā€”10 out of 10 recommend. Why didnā€™t I go sooner?!)

Golden Startup Coffee. So many awesome businesses being built here!

Iā€™m married to the raddest dude around, whoā€™s clocked thousands of trail miles around town šŸƒšŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø. Thereā€™s probably a 97.34% chance heā€™s run by you (as in literally running) in the last 13 years. And, as youā€™ve seen already, we have the goodest pup around: Frankie (the intern)! She got her final shots today (thanks, Aspen Ridge Animal Hospital!) so youā€™ll be seeing her on the trails too. šŸŽ‰

Jarod, Frankie, and I at her first brewery visit.

I started this newsletter this year as both a creative outlet and a way to bring people togetherā€”to help folks find new friends or community, all while supporting Goldenā€™s many awesome businesses. Thereā€™s a lot happening in the world right now, and it feels more important than ever to lean into connection, small joys, and helping each other out. Thatā€™s why I love featuring volunteer opportunities and great fundraisers. And honestly, I just really enjoy writing thisā€”having fun with it, and not taking it (or myself) too seriously.

And the goose theme? šŸŖæ Thatā€™s just because I love alliterationā€”and geese are pretty cool. I created a post about it here.

Thanks for inviting me into your inbox, and I hope to see you around at one of Goldenā€™s many fun events!

Stay curious. Stay kind. And stay a little silly.
ā€”Kelsey

šŸŖæ Goodbye Goose Thursday (Survey)

Just a quick headā€™s up that Iā€™ll be going to once a week newsletters. Putting this together is a labor of love that takes quite a bit of time so I rather have one quality newsletter each week than something spread too thin. Iā€™ll also be experimenting more with formatting going forward.

šŸ‘‰ Iā€™d love it if you could anonymously respond to a short survey āž”ļø here!

(Itā€™s quickā€”I promise. Thanks so much in advance! It really helps.)
