🏃 Front Range Dirt

Whether you’re running the Front Range or savoring it from your porch with coffee in hand, come celebrate the launch of Front Range Dirta brand-new, totally free, grassroots magazine from Golden Endurance that’s all about running in the Front Range. (Also… can we talk about how good that name is?)

Got a story to tell—or know a runner with one worth sharing? They’re looking for contributors, and your article could make the next issue.

Join the launch party tonight (3/27) at 6pm at BP Runco in Wheat Ridge. Followed by a 5K run…as one would expect.

Great name. Great cover. ** chef’s kiss **

💙 A Blue Envelope with a Big Purpose

JeffCo Police just launched the Blue Envelope Program—a new initiative that helps first responders quickly identify when someone may need extra time, patience, or support.

The blue envelope (or lanyard, bracelet, or bumper sticker) acts as a visible symbol that the individual may have a communication-impacting disability or condition. It’s a simple tool that fosters more compassionate, informed interactions during traffic stops or emergencies.

No sign-ups. No forms. No fees. Just swing by a participating location—like the Golden Library or Golden PD—and pick up your free materials.

More information can be found ➡️ here.

🔎 Around Golden: Tucker Gulch—Tracks Through Time

Today’s Tucker Gulch Trail might look like just a peaceful creekside path—but beneath your feet lies a slice of Golden’s railroad history. In 1878, it was buzzing with railroad crews racing to reroute trains north to Cheyenne. In just three days, Union Pacific tore up old tracks and laid new ones along the gulch.

Though this main line was soon replaced by a route from Denver, Tucker Gulch kept its rail life as part of the “Brickyard Branch”—a spur line that served local industries like Church’s Golden Pressed Brickyard, nearby coal mines, and stone quarries. Most tracks were removed by 1963, but walkers can still find hints of rail hidden in the dirt—a steel reminder of Golden’s industrious past.

THANKS!

And that’s a wrap, my fine-feathered friends. If this newsletter made you laugh, learn, or even just linger a little longer at the coffee shop, it’d be great if you’d send it to a friend who also likes knowing Golden things. Have a great weekend!
