Good morning, Golden & the Front Range! We made it through the coldest days of winter yet, and after this weekend, we can enjoy a week of mostly sunny weather with highs in the balmy 40’s. Never thought I’d say “balmy” and “40s” in the same sentence, but here we are.

🏈 Mine’s Coach Moves On

Big news in the Mines football world: Pete Sterbick has stepped down as head coach to take on a new gig, reportedly as Montana State’s offensive coordinator. During his time at Mines, Sterbick led the Orediggers to back-to-back NCAA Division II title games, notched a stellar 22-4 record, and snagged NFFCC Colorado Coach of the Year honors.

Sterbick’s parting words? “The players here make being the head coach at Mines special.” With Yon Boone stepping in as interim head coach, the Orediggers are already gearing up for spring practices and another big season.
